Home from home; in a Stable

When the telephone rang with an invitation to stay at the newly refurbished Chesters Stable we jumped at the chance. Over the past few months we have been keenly watching the development of the former stable block.

Like most people when you imagine a stable, you probably picture something far from Chesters Stables. The sandstone building is an architectural masterpiece. Constructed by the Clayton family, it has been a landmark in the area for over 100 years.

The Stables are now part of Walwick Hall, and they offer self-catering holiday accommodation to compliment the main boutique hotel.

Rachel and her team have carried out an amazing transformation, creating luxury accommodation and keeping the integrity of the original stables.  Our suite, The Foal, still has the authentic wooden panelling.

Our favourite room, The Stallion, has original cast-iron stalls and tiles on the walls. The stalls have been adapted to become a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and breakfast booth.

Take a look at the photos to see it for yourself.
